A Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Spearheaded by two renowned research teams, ECT (Emerging Computer Technologies) and ISISA (Information Security, Intelligent Systems, and Applications), along with the AI-IoT Club, this initiative is open to other research entities within the faculty. It aims to enhance the skills of PhD students integrating AI into their research while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

A Well-Structured and Enriching Program

The initiative offers a rigorous and interactive program built around the following key components:

  1. Weekly Reading Sessions:
Participants will study one chapter per week from Build a Large Language Model from Scratch by Sebastian Raschka, a recent and highly regarded book in the field of LLMs.
  2. Discussion and Coding Meetings:
Every Saturday at 3 PM in Room 9, PhD students will gather for discussions on progress, deeper explorations of the book’s concepts, and hands-on coding sessions using Python notebooks. These meetings will be led by Dr. Mohammed Mghari in collaboration with Professors Rafiq Taouil, Adil Enaanai, and other experienced faculty members.
  3. Participant Engagement and Recognition:
    • Attendance will be tracked, and participants will receive a certificate at the end, specifying the number of hours they attended.
    • Participants will also be encouraged to give presentations, enhancing their scientific communication skills.

Impact and Objectives

This initiative, which has already attracted over twenty PhD students, aims to:

  • Promote a deep understanding of LLMs.
  • Strengthen participants’ independence in utilizing advanced AI technologies.
  • Build an active and collaborative community around emerging technologies.

Call for Participation

Interested PhD students are invited to join this initiative by submitting their information (name, phone number, email, and supervisor’s name). The initiative is also open to other research entities wishing to contribute to this forward-thinking approach.

Advancing AI Research Excellence

By equipping PhD students with advanced knowledge of LLMs, this initiative seeks to position our faculty as a leading contributor to Artificial Intelligence research.

We encourage widespread dissemination of this initiative among PhD students working with AI in their research to maximize its impact and foster the exchange of expertise.
